The QDITC Vertical Buffer Module stores, picks, and buffers small components in standard turnover boxes — with one key advantage over the VSM: it expands infinitely in the length direction. Add modules as your operation scales, without changing the original installation.
VBM vs VSM — the key difference: Both systems retrieve standard turnover bins automatically. The Vertical Buffer Module adds the ability to extend the storage run in the horizontal (length) direction at any time — making it the right choice when future capacity growth is expected or when a long, narrow floor footprint suits the facility better than a tall, compact tower.
Good fit
Light indicators at the access port guide operators to the exact bin and quantity for each order — reducing mis-picks and eliminating paper-based pick lists entirely.
An integrated touchscreen provides a single point of control for storage, retrieval, inventory, and buffering tasks. No specialist training required — operators are productive from day one.
Vertical speed up to 2 m/s and horizontal speed up to 3 m/s — significantly faster than standard VLM/VSM systems — while regenerative braking recovers energy during deceleration to reduce power consumption.
Standard turnover boxes as a universal carrier — no proprietary trays required. Multiple SKUs buffered simultaneously, with fast multi-item access enabling batch picking without multiple retrieval cycles.
Expand in the length direction at any stage — add modules to the existing installation without modifying the original structure. Lower cost per additional storage position than a new standalone unit.
For manual picking scenarios, QDITC provides an integrated manual operation platform at the access port — allowing operator-directed retrieval without WMS input. Suitable for environments where ad-hoc picking supplements automated order fulfilment.
For operations requiring automatic docking with AGVs, conveyors, or other automation equipment — an integrated automatic docking console enables seamless, buffer-aware handoff between the VBM and downstream systems.
Restrict access to authorised personnel only. Biometric login — fingerprint or facial recognition — ties every warehouse transaction to a verified operator identity, supporting audit compliance, access control, and inventory loss prevention.
